bazaar

basing on eric s. raymonds comparison of `the cathedral and the bazaar´ as a metapher for the open source idea bazaar transfers the concept into an post-industrial production model. As an exemplary design the idea is shown within a network of tableware products combining digital culture and handicrafts. basing on three so called `meta-objects´ materialised as serial products in porcelain endless variations and hybrids can be generated within a certain framework by the user-to-be on an online platform - the bazaar. Those objects are materialised as a unique product by hand through the skills of craftsmen.

lettercup

the idea of the lettercup is to transmit messages as an object within a haptic scenario. the sender types the message and depending on the letters used, the shape of  the virtual model changes accordingly. this object can then be printed out in 3d and sent to the receiver as a tactile medium. realised with processing.

exorbit

exorbit is a ventilator, produced with rapid prototyping, that by means of the technology surpasses your expectations of what a conventional ventilator should look like. neither are the rotors the striking element nor does the object turn itself around its axis. the context of form and function has been radically reinterpreted. can a net make wind? does a rotating body have to turn around the centre?
